The Andhra Premier League is in its inaugural season. Yet, it has been a success, given the amount of viewership it receives. With 14 matches completed out of 19, the tournament is swiftly moving towards its culmination.
Let’s look at the match report for the two matches, that took place on July 12th.
APL Match 13: Coastal Riders vs Bezawada Tigers
In the first match of July 12th, table toppers BZW and CSR clashed for APL supremacy. After winning the toss, CSR decided to bat first. Led by captain CR Gnaneshwar the CSR team got off to a very good start with the captain coming up with a resolute half-century (52 off of 42). The other opener B Munish Varma also started well but could not move towards a high score (15). Next batter Maddila Vardhan (63) also came up with a sensational half-century to lead the team to a massive total of 181/4.
In reply, the BZW team could only manage 174/9 and lost the game by seven runs. Although many of the BZW batters contributed to the team total, none could come up with a big score. Pyla Avinash for example was their top scorer (35 off of 25).
With this win, the CSR team have swapped places with the BZW and now sit at first in the APL league table.

APL Match 14: Godavari Titans vs Uttarandhra Lions
In the second match of the APL, teams from the bottom of the table, GOD and UTL clashed. GOD won the toss and elected to bat first. In 20 overs they were able to make 149/8. Hemanth Reddy with 39 off of 38 was their top scorer.
Chasing the target the UTL team got off to a decent start with captain Srikar Bharat making 36 off of 20 balls. Middle-order batter Kothakoona Lakshman came up with a quickfire 47 off of 34 to take the team close to the target. In the end, Shoaib Md Khan (6*) and Mohammad Rafi (11*) were able to take their team across eh finish line.
With this win, UTL move to third in the league table with 10 points meanwhile GOD remain last in the Andhra Premier League table.
