India-Bangladesh 20-20 World Cup match under scanner as rain likely in Adelaide on Wednesday

The Indian cricket team had an indoor practice session on Tuesday.

Rain likely to interrupt India-Bangladesh clash in Adelaide

After losing to South Africa, India are ranked second in the points table with 4 points just below the Proteas. However, the Men in Blue’s clash against Bangladesh on November 2, Wednesday, will be a crucial one as a win against Shakib Al Hasan’s men would do India a lot of favours and would take them closer to the knockouts.

However, people in and around Adelaide took to their social media accounts on Tuesday to reveal that the Indian team are toiling it hard, but only indoors, due to incessant rains. Much to the dreariness of the fans, a washout in the clash against the Bangla Tigers tomorrow could make things complicated for team India.

Could the weather play its game in India-Bangladesh clash?

As things stand, reliable weather site, AccuWeather, predicts a showery afternoon on Wednesday with precipitation of 61%. With a 12% chance for thunderstorms, chances for a wash-out look bleak as the match takes place at 6:30 PM in Adelaide time. However, the toss might get delayed due to a wet outfield and if the weather worsens, in the worst case, the overs might get reduced.

The DLS method, which played a huge role in the clash between England and Ireland in Melbourne, could again play a role in the clash on Wednesday. A 70% cloud cover is expected in the evening on Wednesday and odd showers cannot be ruled out as well. A rain-interrupted match is on the cards and one can be hopeful for a result as the chances for a no-result look grim.

In case of a no-result, both Bangladesh and India would take home 1 point apiece and the Men in Blue will be in a position to win the game against Zimbabwe to qualify. Bangladesh, on the other hand, will face South Africa in their next game and are not the favourites to take the win. Pakistan’s chances for qualifying are dreary and the Proteas’ win against Rohit and his men closed the doors to the knockouts almost. However, mathematically, no team barring Netherlands, are out of the race to reach the semis in Group 2.
