The T20I series between England and Australia is done and dusted. The last match of the series resulted in a washout, which means England won the series by a 2-0 margin. Jos Buttler and Men put in brilliant performances in both games. Australia fell 8 runs short in both matches while chasing down totals. The second T20 International also marked the 50th T20I match for Dawid Malan.

Malan played his 50th T20 international for England in the second match of the series. On the special occasion, he played a match-winning knock of 82 runs in 49 deliveries, including 7 fours and 4 sixes. His knock propelled England’s total to 178 runs at the end of the first innings.

It proved enough as Australia were restricted to 170 runs, falling 8 runs short of the target. Meanwhile, a video has now been surfacing on social media involving Michael Hussey and Dawid Malan.

Ahead of the second T20I, England’s batting consultant Michael Hussey presented a special cap to Dawid Malan. The Australian lavished praise on Malan and also declared him better than Virat Kohli and Babar Azam in the shortest format.

“Well, this is something I never thought I will do in my lifetime, an English cap. Congratulations to Mal, who is playing his 50th game for England today. Obviously a lot of highlights in your career already – one of four centurions for England, second-highest scorer ever in the history of T20 cricket, right behind Alex Hales, the number one player in the world for a period of time and also the fastest ever to 1000 runs, better than Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, I believe, quicker by a few games,” said Hussey in a video posted by England’s cricket official social media handle.

Both England and Australia are placed in Group 1 of the Super 12 stage in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. New Zealand and Afghanistan are also placed in the same group. Australia and England will be kick-starting their campaign on the 25th and 26th of October 2022.
