However, it was not it, as the batter carried on with his form and played a heroic innings to help India win their first outing in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 when the Men in Blue were chasing a target of 160.
The veteran remained unbeaten after scoring 82 runs and eventually surpassed 4000 T20I runs, becoming the first-ever batter to achieve the feat and also gathering the most runs in the history of the format. With 4008 runs in 115 games, Kohli remains the highest run-getter in the history of T20Is.
