Everyone was surprised by India’s elimination from the 20-20 World Cup 2022 semi-finals. Before the tournament, the Men in Blue were considered the favourites to win the title. This also was Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid‘s first major event in the leadership positions. The duo would have expected to do well in the tournament.

However, things did not go their way as England beat them by 10 wickets in the semi-finals to knock them out of the race. A section of fans was enraged by Rohit and Dravid’s leadership pair at the event in Australia.

Now, a video of fans demanding the two be removed from their respective roles is going viral over the internet. ” Bring Kohli back as the captain. He is the captain of the World Cricket Team. It is a joke that he is sitting out not as captain,” a fan in the video said.

“Duniya kaha se kaha pohoch gayi hai aur aap Rahul Dravid ko lekar aa rahe coach banake T20 ka jiski saari zindagi Test me itna aaram se tuk tuk karke khelte hue nikli hai. Aapko mindset badalna padega. KL Rahul aur Rohit ko ghar bhej dena chahiye tha World Cup se pehle hi.

“(The world has come a long way, and you still got Rahul Dravid as the T20 coach, who played defensive Test cricket all his life. You have to change your mindset. KL Rahul and Rohit should have been sent home before the World Cup only),” another fan said.

In the meantime, England and Pakistan advanced to the finals after defeating India and New Zealand, respectively. The two will compete in the mega-clash in just a few hours. The iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) will host the final. The two teams will look for their second title in the 20-20 World Cup, with Pakistan having won in 2009 and England in the following year in 2010.
