Australian fast bowler, Michael Neser became the first bowler to pick a hat-trick in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League on Wednesday. Defending a score of 137 runs, Nesser gave Brisbane Heat a brilliant start with the ball in the 10th match against Melbourne Renegades.
He accounted for the wicket of Sam Harper on the first ball of the match. On the last ball of his over, Nassen then sent Jake Fraser McGurk back to the hut. The Australian fast bowler then came back to bowl his second over and rattled Nic Maddinson’s stumps on the very first ball. On his next ball, he had Jonathan Well ‘bowled’ to complete a hat-trick.
Melbourne Renegades, as a result, were reduced to 9 for 4 in 2.2 overs. You can watch the clip of him taking a hat-trick here:

Michael Neser returned with sensational bowling figures of 4 for 32 in 4 overs. However, his spell went in vain as the Renegades chased down the target in 19.2 overs. Aaron Finch and Andre Russell stitched an 81-run partnership for the 5th wicket and led the team’s recovery.
Russell played a blistering knock of 57 runs in 42 balls, including 2 fours and as many as 6 sixes. He got out in the 15th over but a 19-ball 30 from Akeal Hosein and an unbeaten 31 from Aaron Finch meant Melbourne Renegades chased down the target, in the end.
Earlier, Brisbane Heat amassed 137 runs in the first innings. Both the openers, Max Bryant (5) and Munro (8) departed cheaply, while the likes of Renshaw (29) and Billings (25) were guilty of not converting the starts into big scores.
Brisbane Heat had lost four wickets for just 78 runs on the board in 11 overs. However, a 30-ball 45-run knock from Peirson meant Brisbane Heat reached a score that they can fight with.
As for the Melbourne Renegades’ bowling unit, Tom Rogers returned with sensational figures of 4 for 23 in 4 overs, while Akeal Hosein claimed 3 for 26 in 4 overs.
