India’s opening batter, Shubman Gill has expressed his desire to use ‘Spiderman’ powers during ODI World Cup 2023 final. The summit clash of the World Cup will be played in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, Gill was dubbed for the Indian Spiderman character, Pavitr Prabhakar. The movie is made in Hindi and Punjabi and released in the Indian theaters on June 1.

Meanwhile, after the movie was released, the right-hander had an interview. In this, he was asked what he would do if given the powers of Spiderman for a day. The 2018 U19 winner started by saying he would climb around the buildings like Spiderman. However, the Punjab player added that he would want to have this power during ODI World Cup final

“I would want to be Spider-Man in the World Cup final because I would have spider-sense and I would be able to catch balls,” Gill said in an exclusive conversation with Pinkvilla.

Shubman Gill to play in Test Championship final

Meanwhile, the Fazilka-born player will be opening the batting for India alongside skipper Rohit Sharma in the Test Championship final. In the summit clash against Australia, Gill would like to carry his IPL form in red-ball cricket. Not to forget, since opening the batting for the Men In Blue early this year, he has been scoring hundreds and maintained good form.

Not to forget, he hit his maiden double-hundred against New Zealand in January this year. Last December, the 2022 IPL winner hit his maiden Test ton against Bangladesh. On the other hand, he also scored his maiden T20I hundred against the Kiwis and then, in the IPL 2023, he scored three hundreds in four games. However, in the final, his team, Gujarat Titans failed to defend their title against CSK.

However, Gill has a bigger task at hand in the Test Championship final. The game will start on June 7 at The Oval, London and both, India and Australia have a poor record at the venue in the longest format of the game.
