With only a couple of weeks left at the start of the Ashes 2023, Steve Smith had turned 34 years old. While he is getting a lot of good wishes, one coming from Barmy Army wasn’t in good taste at all. Apparently, they posted a picture of Smith from a press conference in South Africa. The incident took place after he and two other teammates, Cameron Bancroft, and David Warner were caught in ball tampering.

The fans aren’t liking this from England’s fan club and are trolling them endlessly. Most of them are reminding them about his wonderful record in England over the years.

Meanwhile. talking about the former Australia skipper’s record in the European nation, he has played 16 games. In these, he has amassed 1727 runs averaging 59.55 including six centuries and seven fifties. This is his best batting average outside of home. Overall, he has played 32 games and has 3044 runs to his name, averaging 59.68 including 11 centuries and as many fifties.

However, before the Ashes 2023, the Kangaroos will play the Test Championship final against India next week. The Ashes will start on June 16. Meanwhile, former Australia skipper Aaron Finch has said that during the Test Championship final, it will be important for India to take the wicket of Smith early. Similarly, for Australia, it will be important to take the wicket of Smith

I will always side with Steve Smith, I think his record is outstanding, but it will be a very good contest,” Finch told Star Sports.

“I think the rivalry is held in such high regard in both countries, that I think it brings out the best in both teams,” he added.
