Cricketer turned commentator, Aakash Chopra has criticized Rahul Gandhi for his recent statements. Apparently, the latter is on a trip to the United States of America (US) for 10 days. His first stop was San Francisco, which will be followed by Washington DC, and New York. He spoke about a lot of things during his San Francisco, and one of his statements made a lot of controversy.

“I think if you sat Modiji down next to God, Modiji would start explaining to God how the universe works. Right? And God would get confused that what have I created. These are funny things but this is what is going on. There’s a group of people who understands everything. They can explain science to scientists, history to historians, warfare to the Army.. And at the heart of it is mediocrity, they actually don’t understand anything. Because in life, you can not understand anything if you are not ready to listen,” Rahul Gandhi said.

He painted a sorry image of his own country overseas: Aakash Chopra

Meanwhile, in reaction, the Gandhi’s statement, Chopra took to Twitter and came down on the politician without naming him. The former said that as an opposition, the Congress leader let down his country and painted a sorry image. Chopra further questioned whether Rahul is seeking some sort of support and urged to let the electorate do their own job.

“I’m yet to see an opposition leader from another country coming to India and painting a sorry image of his country. Why do you need to articulate that on foreign land unless you’re seeking some sorta support??? Fight your battles in your own country…allow the electorate to decide…isn’t that the very essence of democracy?,” the former India player tweeted.

However, the fans are divided after the former KKR and RR players. Some believe that he raised the right question while others feel that Chopra shouldn’t be getting involved in politics.
