South African skipper Temba Bavuma has been having a torrid time with the bat. Bavuma has only 64 runs to his name this year at an average of 10 and a strike rate of 82. The 32-year-old doesn’t have great numbers in his T20I career either having 565 runs in 27 innings at an average of 23 and a strike rate of 116. He has just one half-century to his name.
Taking an out-of-form Bavuma in the playing eleven at the world cup can backfire for South Africa. The team management could think of handing over the captaincy to Quinton De Kock or David Miller.
