Left-arm pacer Sam Curran had an outstanding season for England, taking 13 wickets in six matches at an impressive average of less than 11.4. His consistent performances throughout the 20-20 World Cup earned him the title of Player of the Tournament.
Curran has become the youngest-ever winner of the prestigious Player of the Tournament award at any men’s World Cup at the age of 24 years and 163 days. The previous record was set by Australia’s Mitchell Starc, who was named Player of the Tournament during the 2015 ODI World Cup at the age of 25 years and 58 days.
