2. England became the first team to hold both 50-over World Cup and 20-20 World Cup simultaneously
For some time now, Team England has been a force to be reckoned with in limited-overs cricket, having been re-energized following the 2015 World Cup. The English team, which has reached the semi-finals of all five Apex Cricket Council events, made history by winning their second 20-20 World Cup.
Following their victory in Australia, the Jos Buttler-led team has become the first men’s cricket team to hold both the T20I and ODI World Cup trophies at the same time. England won the ODI World Cup in 2019 after a thrilling final victory over New Zealand. That victory was led by Eoin Morgan, who retired a few months earlier in the year.
