Having won the ODI and T20I series in England, Indian fans hoped that their team could do the same against the West Indies. The Men in Blue continued their winning momentum to thump the men in maroon during the ODIs, as well as the first T20I. Given India’s insane momentum, it came in as a shock when India were defeated massively in the second T20I.

A shocking loss in the second T20I against West Indies put a greater focus on the third with fans waiting to see how India bounces back. Wanting to put the loss behind them, the Indian team went again against West Indies to get back to their winning ways.

Coming on to bat first the West Indies team got off to a good start with both their openers solidifying themselves. Brandon King (20) and Kyle Mayers (73) put forth a fifty-run partnership before the first wicket fell. Kyle Mayers took hold of the West Indies batting and got them to a decent score. He was also helped by Rovman Powell (23), Nicholas Pooran (22) and Shimron Hetmyer (20) who came up with short stays at the crease.

Indian bowling had an off day with Avesh Khan going for 15.7 runs an over in his three-over spell. Bhuvneshwar Kumar came up with two wickets.

Coming on to chase the innings, Rohit Sharma took charge with Suryakumar Yadav again. The Indian captain however had to depart with a back spasm. Suryakumar along with Shreyas Iyer made a great partnership between them and took India beyond 100 runs. Suryakumar looked in great touch as he deposited balls all around the ground. In just 44 deliveries, the right-hand batter was able to make 76 runs with eight boundaries and four sixes.

It was Rishabh Pant (33*) and Deepak Hooda (10*) who eventually took India across the finish line. In the end, India won the match by seven wickets. With this win, India leads the five-match series 2-1. The next two matches are to be held in Florida, USA.
