‘Moye moye kar diya Singh Sahab ne’ Fans marvel at Indian bowling effort vs South Africa during 1st ODI on Sunday

*Arshdeep Singh picks career best 5/37 to bowl out South Africa for 116.

South African fans were in shock after KL Rahul and his side bowled out the hosts for runs. Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan bowled their hearts out on a pitch which was making batting difficult with variable bounce.

Aiden Markram won the toss and chose to bat first as Johannesburg has been historically known to do well early. Nandre Burger was making his ODI debut for South Africa after his impressive start in T20I cricket.

Sai Sudharsan was making his ODI debut for India after his impressive performances in recent times. Ruturaj Gaikwad was back after not being fit to play the two T20I matches. Sanju Samson was also given a game as confirmed by KL Rahul on the eve of the game.

Indian bowlers breathe fire in Johannesburg –

The Indian bowlers seemed up with the ball despite KL Rahul losing the toss and being asked to bowl first. Arshdeep Singh struck twice in two balls to remove Reeza Hendricks and Rassie Van Der Dussen.

The left-arm-seamer then got the wicket of Tony De Zorzi who was taking the attack to the Indian bowlers. The left-hander scored 28 runs from 22 balls with the help of two fours and two sixes.

From 42/2 the home team slid to 73/8 in just 46 balls thanks to Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh. Heinrich Klaasen became the fourth wicket for Arshdeep Singh when he was out for 6. From thereon it was the Avesh Khan show as he decimated the South African batters.

Aiden Markram was bowled for 12, and Wiaan Mulder was out the next ball to give Avesh Khan a chance to claim a hat-trick. David Miller was out for 2 when he was caught behind by KL Rahul to leave South Africa tottering at 58/7.

Keshav Maharaj then chipped an easy catch to Ruturaj Gaikwad to give Avesh Khan his fourth wicket of the day. Andile Phelukwayo used the long handle to score 33 before he became the 5th wicket of Arshdeep Singh in his final over. The South African innings came to an end when Kuldeep Yadav bowled Nandre Burger. The home team were bundled out for 116 in the 28th over as Avesh Khan ended with four wickets.
