Former India player Kedar Jadhav has been signed as a replacement for all-rounder David Willey. The reason for the latter’s replacement is him sustaining a toe injury during the game against Kolkata Knight Riders at home. RCB lost the game by a fair margin. While facing a yorker from KKR all-rounder, Andre Russell. Ahead of the upcoming reverse fixture against Lucknow Super Giants, the Red Army has signed Jadhav.
Meanwhile, in a media release on IPL’s official website, the reasons for the replacement haven’t been announced. However, it is now clear that the England all-rounder is ruled out for the rest of the season. Talking about Jadhav, he last played an IPL game for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2021 season. Last year, he went unsold and joined the Marathi commentary team this year.
“Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday named Kedar Jadhav as replacement for David Willey for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
“Willey, the England all-rounder, played four matches for RCB this season and scalped three wickets.

Meanwhile, the right-hander has played for RCB before. In the 2018 season, he joined the Chennai Super Kings that was making a comeback after a two-year ban.
“Jadhav, who made his IPL debut in 2010, has so far played 93 IPL games and has 1196 runs against his name. The right-handed batter, who has previously represented RCB in 17 matches, was brought on board for INR 1 Crore,” a release from IPL stated.
