IPL 2024 Auction: Remaining purse, available foreign slots and squad strength of all ten teams

After a full day of drama, Indian Premier League franchises have announced their final retention lists. A total of 85 players have been released by the ten teams after the deadline. Amid huge speculations about Hardik Pandya’s homecoming to the Mumbai Indians, the Gujarat Titans retained him, spicing things up on Sunday.

However, Royal Challengers Bangalore have gone for a huge overhaul as they have released key bowlers like Josh Hazelwood, Wanindu Hasranga, and Harshal Patel. They will be going into the auction with a huge purse of INR 40.75 crore. Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants will go with the least purse in the upcoming auction as they have just 13.15 crore INR remaining. So here is the full list of remaining purses and available slots for all ten teams.

Chennai Super Kings: 31.4 Crore

After leaving some quality middle-order batters, the Chennai Super Kings will look to cover this gap in the upcoming mini-auctions. The team has a huge purse of 31.4 crore to cover six slots, including three foreign ones.

Retained players: MS Dhoni, Moeen Ali, Deepak Chahar, Devon Conway (wk), Tushar Deshpande, Shivam Dube, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Ravindra Jadeja, Ajay Mandal, Mukesh Choudhary, Matheesha Pathirana, Ajinkya Rahane, Shaik Rasheed, Mitchell Santner, Simarjeet Singh, Nishant Sindhu, Prashant Solanki, Maheesh Theekshana

Released players: Ambati Rayudu, Ben Stokes, Dwaine Pretorius, Bhagath Varma, Subhranshu Senapati, Akash Singh, Kyle Jamieson, and Sisanda Magala

Gujarat Titans: 38.15 crore

Despite retaining skipper Hardik Pandya, news reports suggest that the team has traded him to the Mumbai Indians for an all-cash deal. This will give them an additional 15 crore in the auction to cover seven slots, including two foreign.

Retained players: Hardik Pandya (captain), David Miller, Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Wriddhiman Saha, Kane Williamson, Abhinav Manohar, B Sai Sudharsan, Darshan Nalkande, Vijay Shankar, Jayant Yadav, Rahul Tewatia, Mohammed Shami, Noor Ahmad, R Sai Kishore, Rashid Khan, Josh Little, and Mohit Sharma.

Released players: Yash Dayal, KS Bharat, Shivam Mavi, Urvil Patel, Pradeep Sangwan, Odean Smith, Alzarri Joseph, and Dasun Shanaka.

Royal Challengers Bangalore:  23.25 crore

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will need to cover their bowling aspect once again. After releasing all of their key players, the team has reportedly traded Cam Green for a whopping 17.5 crore. If it happens, then they will have to cover six slots, including three foreign, in 23.25 CR.

Retained players: Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Dinesh Karthik, Suyash Prabhudessai, Will Jacks, Mahipal Lomror, Karn Sharma, Manoj Bhandage, Mayank Dagar (trade), Vyshak Vijaykumar, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj, Reece Topley, Himanshu Sharma, and Rajan Kumar.

Mumbai Indians:  17.75 crore

The Mumbai Indians had one of the best times in the trades. They have reportedly roped in Hardik Pandya from the Gujarat Titans, traded out Cam Green to RCB, and earned an extra 2.5 crore for auctions too.

Retained players: Rohit Sharma (captain), Dewald Brevis, SKY, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Tim David, Vishnu Vinod, Arjun Tendulkar, Cam Green, Shams Mulani, Nehal Wadhera, Jasprit Bumrah, Kumar Kartikeya, Piyush Chawla, Akash Madhwal, Jason Behrendorff, and Romario Shepherd (trade).

Released players: Arshad Khan, Ramandeep Singh, Hrithik Shokeen, Raghav Goyal, Jofra Archer, Tristan Stubbs, Duan Jansen, Jhye Richardson, Riley Meredith, Chris Jordan, and Sandeep Warrier.

Delhi Capitals: 28.95 crore

The team has gone with their core players. However, I will be keen to get a quality opener batter as Prithvi Shaw’s fitness and form are in jeopardy.

After two great trades, the Lucknow Super Giants are looking sorted with their team. They will just need to get some bowling options into the auction with a very low budget.

After buying Harry Brook for more than 13 crore, SRH has left him out of the recent retention. The team has a huge 34-crore purse for a mini-auction.
