The incident happened during the ongoing second Day of the game, with Australia having 391/7 on the board. The visitors started the day with 339/5 on the board. They lost the wickets of Alex Carey and Mitchell Starc early in the day. On the other hand, Steve Smith managed to reach 32 Test hundred in his only 99th game.

Talking about the game, the World Test Championship defending champions went on to amass 416 all-out in the first innings. In reply, the home team has had a strong with 208/3 in the board in 42.2 overs. At the time, the team lost the wicket of Ben Duckett (98) to Josh Hazlewood. The pacers such as Mitchell Starc, Cameron Green, and Josh Hazlewood have been guilty of being expensive and bowling multiple no-balls.

The left-hander scored his first Ashes fifty in England after the 2015 Ashes. In that series, he hit three fifties in what resulted in a series loss by a margin of 3-2. It was also the last series of Michael Clarke as a player as he announced his retirement. Meanwhile, in the 2019 Ashes, Warner used to get troubled by Stuart Broad mostly during the series.

In the first innings of the ongoing game, he got lucky as he was dropped at slips. Also, some of his edges were dropping short as the wicket doesn’t have enough bounce for the bowlers so far. The two-time World Cup winner was cleaned up by Josh Tongue after the former scored 66 runs. Currently, the veteran has been playing while risking an injury as he is playing with a bruised hand. In recent times, he has taken a lot of blows while batting.
