Watch: Marnus Labuschagne’s on-field antics during 2nd Ashes Test shock netizens

World Test Champions Australia is currently facing England in the second Test of the Ashes in 2023. The match is being played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. At the end of the second day of the game, England had scored 278-4 in 61 overs. The team is currently trailing the Aussies by 138 runs. Meanwhile, a video of Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne has caused a stir on Social media.

In the viral video, Labuschagne can be seen picking up his Chwingum from the ground and putting it in his mouth just after dropping it. The viral incident attracted mixed reactions on social media, as fans were divided by Labuschange’s action. On Day 1 of the second Ashes Test between England and Australia at Lord’s, the incident took place. After being asked to bat, Marnus Labuschagne was batting alongside Steve Smith, attempting to lead Australia to a dominant position.

Cameras moved towards Australia’s No. 3 when he dropped his chewing gum on the pitch while changing his gloves before the start of the 45th over. He took up the gum and popped it right back into his mouth, much to the ‘disgust’ and ‘surprise’ of many. However,  Labuschagne didn’t care about it and put it back in his mouth and changed the gloves.

Steve Smith led Australia to a massive total

Speaking about the game, Australia posted a massive total of 416/10 in the first inning. Star Australia batter Steve Smith scored a magnificent century to lead his team to a comfortable position. Smith, in his innings, scored his 32nd Test Century. Smith hammered 110 runs in 184 balls with the help of 15 boundaries.

Apart from him, David Warner and Travis Head also scored half-centuries. Warner, in his innings, scored 66 runs off 88 balls with the help of eight boundaries and a six. On the other hand, Head, in his innings, scored 77 runs off 73 balls with the help of 14 boundaries. In response, England scored 278 runs with the help of Ben Dukket’s half-century. Dukket, in his innings, scored 98 runs off 134 balls with the help of nine boundaries.
