The controversial Jonny Bairstow stumping that earned Alex Carey the moniker “Ashes villain” in the English media has made news once more. This time, a Leeds barber claims that Carey visited his store for a haircut but neglected to pay.
The Sun reported that Carey visited Leeds’ Doc Barnet’s Barber Shop for a haircut. Together with his fellow players David Warner and Usman Khawaja, he went to a shop. Carey declined to take a picture and left without paying, in contrast to both of the other two Australian players.
Adam Mahmood said in a conversation with the Sun, he said, “I’m still waiting. They all came in just before we shut. We cut their hair and had a great laugh. But we don’t accept cards and Alex said he had no cash on him. Well, there’s a Tesco cash machine literally round the corner he could have run to.”
I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt: Adam Mahmood
Alex Carey didn’t have any cash, according to Doc Barnet’s Barber Shop barber Adam Mahmood. Carey informed the barber that he was going to transfer the money because the store does not accept credit cards. The Australian wicketkeeper has not yet transferred the full £30, though.
Mahmood added that Carey could have left the hotel in less than five minutes with money from the machine, however, the Australian wicketkeeper told the barber he would make a bank transfer instead.
In the same conversation via The Sun, Adam Mahmood granted Carey the benefit of the doubt and said that the match may have caused him to forget to pay. By the completion of the Headingley Test, the barber demanded payment. He said, “Maybe he forgot. I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt but if it’s not paid by Monday, I won’t be happy.”
At Headingley, Alex Carey is presently taking part in the third Ashes Test match. On Day 3 of the third Ashes 2023 test, he will probably have the opportunity to bat during Australia’s second innings. He will want to make the most of it because his team would prefer to wrap up the series as soon as possible.

Did he complete the haircut at the specified rate? Maybe he’s forfeited 40% of his haircut fee?

This is sad. If the shopkeeper asks him to pay then it is compulsory for him to pay
Some shop keepers do not ask them and give them free service. It is their choice— Sports syncs (@moiz_sports) July 8, 2023
