MS Dhoni, the former captain of India, has provided a sneak peek at his 42nd birthday celebrations. Dhoni was seen slicing a birthday cake as well as having fun with his dogs in a video he shared on Instagram.
On Friday, the captain of the Chennai Super Kings turned 42, and he celebrated at home. He shared a video via Instagram in which he thanked everyone for their good wishes and gave an overview of his day. He posted the clip on Instagram along with the caption, “Thanks a lot for all your warm wishes, a glimpse of what I did on my birthday.”
In the brief video, Dhoni is seen slicing a tiny cake while his four dogs wait impatiently for him to give it to them. Before handing one to each of his two Huskies, a German Shephard, and a black Indie dog, Dhoni nibbles on a small portion.
Reflecting on Dhoni’s career
In 2004, Dhoni made his international debut for India. He immediately won over everyone with his aggressive batting style. While he continued to be a crowd-pleaser on the pitch, the wicketkeeper’s leadership brought out his best qualities and allowed the spectators to see a side of him that would come to be associated with him for the remainder of his professional career.
After participating in 90 Tests, 350 ODIs, and 98 T20 Internationals for India, Dhoni announced the end of his international career in August 2020. He scored 4,876 runs with an average of 38.09 in Tests, 10,773 runs with an average of 50.57 in ODIs, as well as 1,617 runs with an average of 37.60 in T20Is.
With victories in the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, as well as the Champions Trophy in 2013, Dhoni is still the only skipper in the history of cricket to possess all three white-ball titles. Dhoni has been a constant for the team, from their first IPL victory in 2010 to their most recent victory this year.
