Discarded India’s opening batter, Prithvi Shaw, and his girlfriend Nidhi Tapadia made their public appearance at the IIFA awards. On May 26, the couple was recorded and clicked, and the video of them is going viral. Both were wearing black clothes. Meanwhile, during the photo shoot, the photographers and videographers were asking them to change places for different angles.

However, when the duo was leaving the photo session, one of the photographers mistakenly called him Rishabh Pant. The others can be heard laughing at this. On the other hand, Pant has been away from the game since his near-death accident on December 30, last year. The fans couldn’t believe their ears after listening to a photographer identifying Shaw as Pant.

Prithvi Shaw is having a forgetful year on and off the field

Meanwhile, the 2018 U19 World Cup-winning skipper is having a forgetful year on and off the field. Early this year, he and his friend had a scuffle with Bhojpuri actress, Sapna Gill and her friend. What followed was an FIR against Sapna but in return, she has also filed a molestation case against the cricketer.

On the field, he had a forgetful IPL 2023 with the bat. After playing only eight games, he had 106 runs including a half-century at the business end of the league stage. Apart from this, the right-hander failed to make an impact in other games. Shaw is falling behind as far as selection in the Indian team is concerned.

After all, the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill (Shaw’s teammate in the 2018 event), and others are rising in Indian cricket. Even though he had a good, Ranji Trophy and Syed Mushtaq Ali season, Shaw has always been exposed against quality bowlers.
