Mithun Chakraborty admitted to hospital after being diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke

Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has been admitted to hospital after being diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke of the brain.

Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty has been admitted to hospital after being diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Stroke of the brain. He was hospitalized at 9.40 AM on a Saturday at an Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals in Kolkata. This happened after Mithun complained of severe chest pain.

The hospital said, “Shri Mithun Chakraborty (73), a National Award-winning actor, was brought to the Emergency Department of Apollo Multispeciality Hospitals, Kolkata, around 9.40 am with complaints of weakness in the right upper and lower limbs. Necessary laboratory and radiology investigations included an MRI of the brain. He has been diagnosed with an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke) of the brain.”

After the veteran actor was admitted, he went through a few tests and an MRI scan and it was confirmed that the actor had developed monir speech difficulty and thus, the right-hand movement was affected. After that, he was transferred to the ICU for further treatment. Currently, he’s on a soft diet and is out of danger. He’s been treated by a neuro-physician, cardiologist, and a gastroenterologist.

What is an Ischemic Cerebrovascular Accident (Stroke)?

An ischemic Cerebrovascular stroke is a medical emergency case that occurs when the brain’s blood vessels get narrowed or blocked. This is mostly caused by blood clots or other debris travelling through the bloodstream. Moreover, this happens most often from the heart. Furthermore, this leads to decreased blood flow to the brain causing ischemic stroke.

The symptoms of this stroke are slurred speech, not understanding speech, difficulty in swallowing, Numbness, weakness or paralysis in the face, arm, or leg, sudden blurred or blackened vision in one or both eyes, severe headache with vomiting, dizziness and trouble walking. Moreover, as per doctors, if anyone is having these symptoms, they should visit their nearby doctors.
