Speaking about the same, former India batter Aakash Chopra asked GT to rest Yash Dayal in their upcoming match against Punjab Kings and play Shivam Mavi. He said that it may take some time for Dayal to recover from what happened at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Aakash opined about the game in a video posted on his YouTube channel.
He said, “In bowling, I feel you should play Shivam Mavi if he is available because you can rest Yash Dayal now. It takes a little time to recover after what happened to him. The rest of the bowling is good. They have Alzarri Joseph and Joshua Little, and Mohammad Shami bowls well in any case. This team’s bowling is quite strong and healthy. They have a lot of options available”
Will Hardik Pandya play against Punjab Kings?
Meanwhile, concerns mount over GT skipper Hardik Pandya’s fitness as the star allrounder is likely to miss the game against Punjab Kings. Speaking about the same Aakash Chopra said, “There is a question over Hardik Pandya’s availability. If he is fit and available, he will come and play. I feel Rashid Khan missed a trick in the last match. He is a brilliant captain, he does very well, but he didn’t use the sixth bowler at all.”
Notably, Chopra further concluded his pre-match analysis by picking Gujarat Titans ahead of Punjab Kings to win the game. According to Chopra visiting team has more depth in the bowling attack than the home team and it will provide an edge to the GT.
