In the Australian dressing room, Team India all-rounders Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Axar Patel were listed among the greatest spin bowling all-rounders in history.
At the famous Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Australia’s top spinning all-rounders were named on the whiteboard in the Boxing Day Test match against Pakistan. Some iconic names like Shakib Al Hassan, Travis Head, Samit Patil, Richie Benaud, Daniel Vettori, and Sir Gary Sobers are on the list. But amongst the Indians, Ashwin, Jadeja, and Axar are listed among the greatest spin bowlers in the history of international cricket.
Australia and Pakistan are now playing a Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground. On December 18, the hosts defeated a touring party in the first Test series match at Optus Stadium in Perth, giving them a 1-0 lead.
In the meanwhile, the Indian team for the two-match Test series versus South Africa includes Ravichandran Ashwin as well as Ravindra Jadeja. The first Test will take place at SuperSport Park in Centurion on December 26. Following their defeat at the hands of Australia during the ODI World Cup Final in November, they will play for Team India for the first time.
Are the Indian spin trio the best all-rounders?
The most experienced all-rounder is now Ravichandran Ashwin. In comparison to ODIs and T20Is, the 37-year-old boasts a strong record in Test cricket. Ashwin has accumulated 3185 and taken 489 wickets in red-ball cricket. In Test cricket, he needs only eleven wickets to get 500 wickets.
Among the world’s greatest all-round players is Ravindra Jadeja. With his batting and bowling, he would frequently provide consistency to the Indian lineup. In 330 appearances, the 34-year-old has amassed 6080 runs and claimed 548 wickets in international cricket. He is the second Indian all-rounder to reach 6000 runs as well as 500 wickets in all forms.
It’s still early to say whether Axar Patel is a true all-around player. In 2021, the 30-year-old enjoyed an outstanding Test series versus England, taking 27 wickets in three games. In 12 Test matches, Axar has taken 50 wickets and amassed 513 runs.

Daniel Vettori at the top of list. Surely bcz he was a good wicket taking bowler for Kiwis. Two Indians in that list. India is going to drop one best spinning all rounder for Boxing Day test today. Sadly no Pakistani in that list
