Due to Hardik Pandya’s absence from the cricket pitch after the World Cup, there have been rumours that he won’t play in the forthcoming T20I series versus Afghanistan or perhaps the IPL 2024. was neglected.

The Times of India has been informed by a source that Pandya has fully recovered and prepared to lead Team India. Beginning on January 11, he will lead Team India in the next Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan.

The source stated that, “He has fully recovered from his ankle injury. He has been training every day, he should definitely be fit for the IPL and possibly the T20I series against Afghanistan.”

Fans and teams alike are relieved by this news, particularly the Mumbai Indians who recently named Pandya their captain. It was unclear when he would return following an ankle injury he sustained during the Bangladesh match, but the fans are thrilled with how quickly he is healing.

There were reports that Rohit Sharma might come back to the Indian team. This is because the main stand-in captains, Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav might be ruled out. If Hardik Pandya does not return, Rohit might captain the side in the 3-match T20I series.

Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah made a suggestion that Hardik may play soon. He revealed that he might be seen in the three-match T20I series versus Afghanistan at home. This happened while he was present for the Women’s Premier League auction on December 9. Pandya’s supporters were ecstatic when Shah discussed Pandya’s potential comeback to international cricket when speaking with the media.

Jay Shah stated that, “We are monitoring it (Pandya’s fitness) on a day-to-day basis. He is in the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He is working very hard and we will let you know in time as soon as he is fit. Hardik may be fit even before the Afghanistan series.”
