Riding on amazing bowling performances from Adam Milne and Trent Boult, the Black Caps bowled out host for a mere 171 runs in 34 overs.

After that, the team went all out against the Bangladeshi bowling attack and won the game by seven wickets. Young batters Will Young and Henry Nicholls scored half-centuries and helped the Kiwis clinch a historic victory. Young, in his innings, scored 70 runs off 80 balls with the help of ten fours and a six. On the other hand, Nicholls scored an unbeaten 50 runs off 86 balls with the help of four fours and a six.

With this victory, New Zealand won the series 2-0 as the first game was washed out due to rain. It’s worth noting that the playing without start batter and skipper Kane Williamson team has showcased their power during the series. Their performance in the subcontinent has been phenomenal, first against Pakistan and now against Bangladesh, and it will surely help them in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.

In a shocking turn of events, Bangladesh announced their 15-member squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 on Tuesday. Days before the tournament commencement, the team decided to go without senior player and former skipper Tamim Iqbal. Iqbal has been dropped from the World Cup squad for the first time in the last decade due to fitness issues. He has been working on his fitness since missing the Asia Cup in 2023.

However, the team will be led by star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, while senior players like Najmul Hossain Shanto, Litton Das, and Mahmudullah have been included in the squad. Bangladesh will face Afghanistan in their first game of the tournament on October 7 at the HCA cricket stadium in Dharamshala. The Subcontinent team will focus on performing better and clinching their first title.
