‘Ye banda Cricket ka Narendra Modi hai’ – Fans react to Jay Shah stating major talking points regarding World Cup in recent press conference

Jay Shah kept a press conference in which he stated some of the majoir points ahead of a busy schedule in the cricketing world

Jay Shah

According to Jay Shah on Thursday, three full board members requested in writing a revision to the schedule of their games during the ODI World Cup in India. October 5 is the date when the ODI World Cup 2023 is set to begin with the match between England and New Zealand.

It was previously speculated that the eagerly anticipated India versus Pakistan matchup would be postponed since October 15 marks the beginning of the city’s Navratri celebrations, which will put security personnel under extra pressure. One game’s scheduling modification has the potential to have a cascading effect on the entire schedule. There was discussion about moving the contest to October 14, but that day already had two other games scheduled, and one date cannot contain three games.

Jay Shah said, “Three members have written to the Governing Body for International Cricket for a schedule change. Only the date and timings will be changed, venues will not be changed. If there is a six-day gap between games, we are trying to reduce it to 4-5 days. Picture will be clear in three-four days. Changes will happen in consultation with the ICC.”

Jay Shah’s update on Jasprit Bumrah’s fitness

With regard to the T20I series that begins in Ireland, India will send a backup team, but Jasprit Bumrah, the team’s spearhead for pace, is set to be put to the test during the three games in Malahide, Shah added.

Bumrah is undergoing significant treatment at the NCA following surgery to treat the lower-back stress fracture, and it is anticipated that he will play a few exhibition games before a decision is made. The ACC President said that, “Bumrah is totally fit and he may go to Ireland.”

The Indian Cricket Board secretary spoke about the reaction of Harmanpreet Kaur during the third ODI between India and Bangladesh. He said, “Roger Binny and Laxman will question Harmanpreet on her outbursts during the third ODI against Bangladesh. We are not going to challenge her suspension.”
