Bill Apter recently talked about how Triple H responded to one of his queries after SummerSlam 2023 in a mocking manner, which many people found to be insulting. The Game has established a practice of holding a press conference following each high-profile live event since taking office last year. When questioned about the events at each show, the 54-year-old responds politely.
WWE’s Chief Content Officer held a conference where he fielded several questions even after SummerSlam 2023. Bill Apter, a member of the media for Sportskeeda Wrestling, asked about Austin Theory competing for the Battle Royal rather than retaining his US Title.
He explained how he couldn’t put all the talent on the show: Bill Apter
Apter made it crystal clear on the most recent UnSKripted show that Triple H’s response was simply sardonic and not disrespectful. Bill Apter said that “A lot of people were defending me, thinking Triple H disrespected me at the SummerSlam post-conference. I asked a question to him and said, ‘Why the heck is the United States Champion in a Battle Royal?’ He sarcastically, jokingly, because of the relationship I have with him, and he said, ‘Well, to win the Battle Royal. To throw people over the top rope, and it got a good laugh. And then he explained how he couldn’t put all the talent on the show because it was too long.”
The seasoned journalist added that he dislikes it personally when the US Champion is forced to participate in the Battle Royal. He added, “But my feeling was one of the main champions in the company shouldn’t be in the Battle Royal. A lot of people thought he was too sarcastic and disrespected me. I want to set the record straight. He was not disrespecting me one bit.”
During the SummerSlam press conference, many additional superstars engaged with the media, including LA Knight, Damage CTRL, as well as Cody Rhodes. It was one of the biggest nights of the year for the company and WWE fans all around the world.
