WWE SmackDown’s previous episode saw Hall of Famer Edge defeat Sheamus in an entertaining match. He charged the Irish star with two spears to nail the game and pick up an emotional win. It was Edge’s final game in his WWE contract, raising speculations on his retirement. The veteran went on to address his hometown’s crowd in Toronto. He said that it was his ‘last time’ in Toronto. It is not clear if he will return for another bout to hang his boots.
“Here’s what I can honestly say, and this isn’t the answer everyone wants. I truly don’t know. I really really, with 100% truth can say I don’t know. That’s strange for me, but I don’t. I really don’t. I’ve put some thought into it, but not a lot. This is the last match on my current contract. I don’t know. I honestly don’t know,” the Superstar said in an interaction with ET Canada.
Roman Reigns hits 500 days as WWE Champion
In the same week, Roman Reigns also marked 500 days of being the WWE Champion. He won the WWE title against Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. Meanwhile, he has held the Universal Championship for 1083 days now. Talking further on WrestleMania, a headliner game was hinted at by Sports Illustrated. If reports are to be believed, Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks may be involved in the opening of WrestleMania 40. “We’ll see what WrestleMania XL brings, but you know what’s crazy? Think of how much better we are now than we were then. We’ve both grown so much; you can’t even compare it to before,” said Flair.
Finally, Kurt Angle, Randy Orton’s long-time friend dropped a bombshell on the star wrestler’s expected WWE return. The Olympic gold medalist made the revelation in his show, ‘The Kurt Angle Show.’ “Randy has always been a good friend of mine, he’s still my friend to this day, and he’s one of the very few wrestlers that I actually still keep in touch with. We’re definitely due [to hang out]… Randy has been out with injury, but even though he has time off right now, he’s training his butt off, and he’s still rehabbing and everything,” said Kurt Angle adding fuel to the rumours of an expected return in WrestleMania 39.
