World Wrestling Entertainment has announced its inductees for the Hall of fame this year. Ahead of WrestleMania, 39, WWE announced the name of the Hall of fame contender of this year. On the recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown, WWE announced Rey Mysterio as the inductee in the prestigious list.
Mysterio, who made his Wrestling debut in 1989, is still active in wrestling and set to have a special father-son encounter at WrestleMania 39. According to the official announcement, Misterio will be inducted into the Hall of fame this year during the biggest night of WWE.
Mysterio made his professional wrestling debut in 1989 and wrestled for AAA before moving on to ECW and becoming a top cruiserweight in WCW. He ultimately made it to WWE in 2002 and hasn’t looked back since, building together an incredible career that had before every honor the company could award to a wrestler, from world champion to Royal Rumble winner and beyond.
Rey Mysterio dodged his son on SmackDown
It was a pretty eventful day on WWE SmackDown in the USA tonight. As Fans were surprised when Rey Mysterio was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Meanwhile, his son Dominik Mysterio insulted him and the WWE superstar dodged his son during the episode. Although it is expected that Rey will face Dominik in WrestleMania 39.
On the other hand, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus, Xavier Woods, Karrion Kross, and LA Knight competed in a five-way match to earn a spot in the Intercontinental Championship event against Gunther at WrestleMania. Drew McIntyre and Sheamus were both named winners tonight. According to Adam Pearce, McIntyre and Sheamus will face off next week, with the winner punching his ticket to The Showcase Of The Immortals.
Meanwhile, The Usos stole the show by coming together in the arena and publicly announcing Jey Uso’s return to serve Roman Reigns and The Bloodline. The Usos went on a diatribe against Cody Rhodes, which was cut short by The American Nightmare himself. With an unexpected appearance, Sami Zayn aided Cody in defeating the Usos, forcing the brothers to flee the arena.
