Indian cricketing star Virat Kohli is a hero to more than a billion people. Many today want to emulate Kohli’s success and achievement in cricket. On October 16th one such girl went viral for her zeal to emulate the legendary India batter.
The video that has been doing the rounds of the internet shows a girl from Ladakh showcasing her batting skills and hoping to play like Kohli. The video posted by the Directorate of School Education, Ladakh has been viewed by more than 600k users on Twitter and thousands of others on different social media platforms.
The caption of the video reads, “My father at home and my teacher at school encourage me to play cricket. I’ll put all my efforts to play like @imVkohli Maqsooma student class 6th #HSKaksar.”
In the video, the Mama speaks about cricket and playing like his idol Virat Kohli.
“I have been playing since childhood. I am still learning how to play especially ‘Helicopter Shot.’ After taking the second run, we get tired and do not feel like running for another. My favourite cricketer is Virat Kohli and I want to be like him,” she said.

The video has impressed many Twitter users as well. One user with the name, Shyam Settikere hoped, “Super!! Looking forwards to Maqsooma playing at the national and international level in a few years!!”
Another spoke of Kohli’s ability to motivate others by saying, “This is what these cricketers earn mann. Those 71 centuries are good. Those overseas wins are very good. WC 11 and CT 13 are excellent but this is what is priceless. The love you get from everywhere.”
Kohli is currently preparing for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup in Australia. India would be starting their campaign on October 23rd against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Virat Kohli grabbed his 71st century at the Asia Cup 2022 against Hong Kong and looks in great touch going into the World Cup.
