Watch: Suresh Raina serenades his fans singing ‘Tenu Dhoop Lagiya ve’ by Rito Riba

Cricketers work really hard to perfect their skills and compete against the best in the world at the international level. Over time these players turn into a really talented version of themselves putting their skills on display for the entire world to see. However, some players are talented off the field as well. One such player is former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina, who recently went viral for his singing skills.

The star batter shared a video of him singing a Punjabi Song on his social media handles. He shared the video with the caption, “Apart from hitting the ball on the field, do you think I can hit some notes too? Heard this beautiful track recently and thought of sharing it with you all. Hope you like it.”

The 35-year-old is known for his singing skills, which he first revealed during an award show in 2009. He further gave glimpses of his singing talent in various interviews. The talented cricketer was also seen singing along with famous singer Guru Randhawa on his son Rio Raina’s birthday in 2021. In an interview in 2012, Raina revealed that he took part in several singing competitions during his school days and even danced to the tunes of ‘bhangra’.

Suresh Raina retires from franchise cricket in September

The star cricketer announced his retirement from Indian T20 League last month. He retired from international cricket in 2020 on the same day as MS Dhoni announced his retirement. He played for Chennai Franchise in the 2021 Indian T20 League. But, he was not picked by the four-time champion side in the mega auction earlier this year which led to his retirement.

The Former Chennai player is ranked fifth on the list of players who scored the most runs in the Indian T20 League. He has amassed 5528 runs in 200 innings at an average of 32.52 and a strike rate of 136.73 in his illustrious career.

Raina was the first Indian batter to score a hundred in all three formats of cricket. He also scored a hundred on his Test debut in 2010 against Sri Lanka and became the 12th player to achieve the feat.
