The Indian team is currently going through their preparations for the upcoming 20-20 World Cup match in Australia. The Men in Blue have already played two practice matches, one of which they won and the other brought upon defeat.

The team would be looking to put their Asia Cup disappointment and bring India’s fourth World Cup home from Australia. While there is huge pressure on the team, the Indian skipper looks to keep the atmosphere as light as possible in the camp. Rohit Sharma also likes to give time and attention to his fans and is often seen interacting with them whenever he gets the chance to.

A video of one such fan interaction was posted by the official Indian Cricket Board Twitter handle on Sunday, 16th October. The video shows an Indian-origin kid named Drushil Chauhan talking about his reaction to being called by Rohit Sharma. The video then shows the 11-year-old boy bowling to the Indian skipper.

Towards the end of the video, Rohit is head asking, “If you’re gonna live in Perth, how are you gonna play for India?”

“I’m gonna go to India,” says Drushil in reply. Further intrigued, Rohit Sharma asks, “When are you going to go?” A little confused Drushil says, “I don’t know, when I’m good enough.”

Talking of the special moment, Hari Prasad, Team India’s analyst, in the same video, said, “We were at the WACA for a noon practice session and kids were finishing their morning event. We could see 100-odd kids playing cricket from our dressing room. One caught everyone’s attention, especially Rohit. Everyone was amazed by his smooth run-up, his natural talent and how he was beating the bat consistently. Rohit went out to ask him to bowl a few balls in the nets. It was an amazing sight.”

India begins their World Cup campaign against Pakistan on October 23rd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. There are however uncertainties over that game as the weather report doesn’t seem confidence-inspiring.
