The 20-20 World Cup 2022 has already begun, with teams giving their all. UAE took on the Netherlands in the second match of the group stages of the tournament. The encounter was a low scoring one, but a winner was not certain until the second last ball of the match.

Meanwhile, a hilarious video of Aayan Khan tripping on the boundary ropes from the first innings of the match has gone viral. Aayan was walking back to the dressing room after being dismissed by Fred Klaassen in the final over when this incident occurred.

The player tried to hop over the boundary cushions but mistimed it and tumbled upon it. His fall accounted for a hilarious moment. The video of the same has been doing rounds on the internet.

As for the match, the Netherlands emerged victorious in the low-scoring thriller. Batting first, UAE could only manage to get a total of 111 runs despite not losing too many wickets. Muhammad Waseem, with a score of 41 runs in 47 balls, was the highest scorer of the innings. For the Netherlands, Bas de Leede was the pick of the bowlers for his spell of 3-0-19-3.

The Scott Edwards-led team took a cautious approach while chasing a small target of 112 runs. With the UAE bowlers taking wickets at regular intervals, the match came down to the wire. However, the Men in Orange held their nerves to get to the total with one ball to spare.

The Netherlands escaped with two crucial points in the tournament’s Group stages. Earlier in the day, Namibia humiliated Sri Lanka in the tournament’s opening game. Namibia won by a massive margin of 55 runs.

Meanwhile, the winners of the first two matches will meet on October 18th for their second match of the tournament. Sri Lanka and UAE will also go head-on on the same day at the same venue, Simonds Stadium in Geelong.
