In the ongoing Day Two of the Boxing Day Test between Australia and Pakistan, the home team, the Aussies started the day with 187/3. On Day One, the World Test Championship holders played only 66 overs due to rain. Also, the Asian side missing easy chances didn’t help their cause. However, on Day Two, the visitors have looked a different team from what they have been in the three-match series.

From 187/3, the home side was bowled out for 318 runs. For Pakistan, vice-captain Shaheen Afridi, Mir Hamza, and Hasan Ali took two wickets each. On the other hand, Aamer Jamal took three, and Salman Agha took one. Meanwhile, during this collapse, Mohammad Rizwan took a blinder to send back Alex Carey off Afridi’s bowling. Notably, the former took the catch down the leg side on the inside edge.

Talking about Pakistan’s reply after bowling out the Aussies, the Asian side has amassed 112/1 at the time of writing. They lost the wicket of Imam-ul-Haq before the Tea break. After losing one for 34 runs, the likes of skipper Shan Masood and Abdullah Shafique have put together 78 runs and counting for the second wicket. For the first time in this series, Pakistan has looked like giving a fight against the Aussies.

Not to forget, they have been waiting for a Test win in Australia since the 1994-95 series. In the last 14 years, they are yet to draw a Test Down Under. It will be interesting to see whether they can change the course of their patterns.

Mohammad Rizwan replaced Sarfaraz Ahmed

The Multan Sultans skipper in the Pakistan Super League has replaced the former skipper Ahmed in the ongoing game. The 2017 Champions Trophy winning captain failed terribly with the bat alongside others in the first Test last week played in Perth, Western Australia.
