In the ongoing second Test between India and England, the home team started the day with 336/6 on the board. Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was batting at 179, went to score his maiden double hundred. The team ended up four runs short of 400 on the board. In reply, the visitors, leading the series 1-0 had a great start as the openers, Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley put together 59 runs for the first wicket.
The latter scored almost a run-a-ball 76 runs before he tried a shot too many against Axar Patel who just came to bowl. Shreyas Iyer took a great catch running and wobbling. This has been proving a turning for the team as they have lost three more wickets. In the third spell, Jasprit Bumrah has taken the wickets of Ollie Pope and Joe Root. The latter was dismissed with a yorker.

Pope, Root, Crawley, and Duckett fell in the post-lunch, afternoon session. In the post-Tea evening session, the team lost another wicket in the form of Jonny Bairstow to Bumrah. At the time of writing, the Three Lions have amassed 172/5, trailing by 224 runs.
Ollie Pope was the Hero in the first game last week
The right-hander from Surrey helped the team win an almost-lost game last week. In the first game of the series, his team was tottering at 165/5, after they trailed by 190 at the end of the first innings. However, Pope’s 196 ensured not only India batted again but also lost the game by 28 runs. During the game, Bumrah was reprimanded for intentionally obstructing the Surrey player. The former was fined for the same after the game.
Bumrah’s breach specifically falls under Article 2.12, addressing “inappropriate physical contact with a player, player support personnel, umpire, match referee, or any other person (including a spectator) during an international match.”
