Ishan Kishan etched his name in the history books with a scintillating double hundred in the third ODI against Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday. The left-handed batter was brought into the team as a replacement for Rohit Sharma who injured his thumb in the second ODI. Kishan ripped apart the Bangladesh bowlers and scored the fastest double hundred in the history of ODI cricket. The 24-year-old celebrated the landmark in some style, the video of which has gone viral all over the internet.
After completing his double ton with a single on the last ball of the 35th over, Kishan ecstatically ran way past the crease at the non-striker’s end. He pulled out his helmet, jumped in the air in delight and raised his bat towards the Indian dressing room while being completely hyped.
However, upon his return to the pitch, it was his celebration alongside Virat Kohli that caught the attention of fans even more. The former Indian skipper walked up to Kishan and did some bhangra moves and hugged him.

The 24-year-old was involved in a 290-run partnership with Virat Kohli for the second wicket off just 191 balls. He broke Chris Gayle’s previous record of 138 balls and became the batter to score the fastest hundred in ODIs off just 126 balls. The Bihar-born batter became the seventh player overall to reach the landmark in ODIs.
He also scored the fastest 150 for India as he brought up the score in just 103 balls. Virender Sehwag previously held the record, reaching it against the West Indies in 2011 in just 112 balls. Kishan is now also the youngest player to score a double hundred in ODIs.
The Southpaw’s breathtaking innings finally came to an end in the 36th over as he departed for a well-made 210 from 131 balls with the help of 24 fours and 10 sixes. Virat Kohli also brought up his ODI hundred after a long wait of 1214 days. Courtesy of Kishan’s and Kohli’s heroics, India posted a massive score of 409 in their allotted 50 overs.
