Ravindra Jadeja has established himself as an important member of the Indian cricket team over the years, thanks to his skilful left-arm spin, dependable lower-order batting, and excellent fielding. Due to a freak injury, the Indian team missed his service at the 20-20 World Cup 2022.
The absence of the star all-rounder harmed the side’s balance in the mega-event, which saw the Rohit Sharma-led side lose to England in the semi-finals. Jadeja recently recalled an interesting incident involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former India captain MS Dhoni.
“I had first met him (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) in 2010 in Ahmedabad. He was the chief minister of Gujarat back then,” Jadeja said in a video posted by Free Press Journal.
“We (India) had a match against South Africa in the Motera Stadium. Mahi bhai (MS Dhoni), who was our captain back then, introduced me to him. Modi Sahab ne khud bola ki ‘bhai ye toh apna ladka hai, dhyaan rakhna (Modi Sir said, ‘He’s our boy, take care of him)’.
“You feel special when a person of such big stature says this personally. I felt really good when he said this.”

In the meantime, There were many rumours of a rift between Ravindra Jadeja and the Chennai franchise in recent months. According to reports, Jadeja did not want to play in the next edition of the Indian T20 League for Chennai because he was dissatisfied with the treatment he received during the 2022 season. Several reports suggested that the Indian all-rounder would play for a different franchise next season, but those rumours have now been debunked.
To the delight of fans, the franchise has added Jadeja to their recently released list of retained players for the upcoming season. Following the announcement, Ravindra Jadeja also posted a photo of himself with MS Dhoni with the caption, “Everything is fine #RESTART”. It didn’t take long for Jadeja’s post to go viral, and as it did, it was flooded with heartwarming reactions.
