Danish Kaneria glorifies star Indian batter for continued great form

The Indian cricket board sacked the entire selection committee led by Chetan Sharma on November 18, Friday, and fans opined that it was a bold decision by the board. Many former cricketers, on the other hand, went over the board and slammed the ousted selectors for not picking the right players for the Indian team.

Former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria, who lauded Suryakumar Yadav for his crisp hundred in the second T20I against New Zealand on Sunday, said that the Indian selectors wasted his talent and added that he must have been brought into the setup way earlier.

For the unversed, the right-handed batter scored 111 runs off 51 balls and helped India clinch an emphatic win against New Zealand by 65 runs after setting a massive target of 192. The Indian batter’s innings comprised of 11 fours and seven sixes at a strike rate of over 200.

Beast mode of Suryakumar Yadav continues: Danish Kaneria

Heaping praise on Suryakumar, Kaneria said that the talismanic batter continues to impress with his unorthodox batting and added that his beast mode continued in the recently concluded game as well. Further, Kaneria claimed that he has not witnessed any player with such orthodox shots in the history of cricket.

“The Indian selectors wasted Suryakumar Yadav’s five years. However, he has made up for the lost time, proving his mettle at the highest level with consistent performances. Everywhere we look, each and every expert is talking about Suryakumar today,” Kaneria said on his YouTube channel.

“The beast mode of Suryakumar Yadav continues. He picked up before the 20-20 World Cup, continued the same during the World Cup, and is now doing the same in New Zealand. He was phenomenal. The way he bats, there is no corner of the ground that he doesn’t utilise. There has never been a player in world cricket who has hit shots like these. The bowlers tend to look completely helpless against his onslaught,” he added.

The Indian star would hope to carry on with the momentum and win more matches for India. With the potential to become one of the best batters for the Men in Blue, Suryakumar will have to continue with his form and his style of batting.
