Afghanistan pacer Naveen-ul-Haq grabbed a fantastic catch at mid-off which set the tone for his side in the second innings. Along with that, Heinrich Klaasen delivered a brilliant innings to propel Durban’s Super Giants towards the first-ever SA20 Final. They claimed a 69-run victory against Joburg Super Kings during Qualifier 2 at the Wanderers on Thursday. The Durban Super Giants will meet Sunrisers Eastern Cape in the final match on Saturday.
Batting first, Durban’s Super Giants scored 211 for 6 over 20 overs after being 95 for 4 at one point. Following the breakdown of the top order, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Klaasen, and Wiaan Mulder spearheaded the rebound. Rajapaksa of Sri Lanka struck 35 off 23 balls, followed by Klaasen’s 74 from 30 balls. Mulder hit a fifty in only 23 balls.
In response, the Joburg Super Kings’ pursuit never gained the pace that it needed. Skipper Faf du Plessis fell during the second over of the contest. Reece Topley dismissed the other opener Leus du Plooy with a screamer from Naveen. The batter attempted to clear the mid-off, however Naveen timed his jump perfectly to make a two-handed grab within a flash.

“I try to stay humble” : Heinrich Klaasen after his flamboyant knock
Durban Super Giants batter Heinrich Klaasen won the player of the match award for his blistering knock in the first innings. His innings was crucial in taking his side to a good total in the virtual semi-final in the SA20.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad batter said that, “They bowled incredibly well at the start, I had to dig deep and knew Immy (Tahir) would be coming back. He bowled well in the first two overs and was hard to get away. I know my processes and I try to stay humble. It has been working nicely to go out there and finish the game. We need to get them back, we have had a couple of good games and hopefully we get one over them.”
