The Indian T20 League 2022 is halfway through with 35 matches already being completed. The tournament has gone bigger and better this year with two new teams being a part of it. The participating teams are trying hard to qualify for the playoffs and the fans are enjoying the intense competition in the race to the top four.
It is yet to be decided which four teams will be playing in the playoffs, but the venues for the all-important matches of the tournament have been confirmed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The two cities of Kolkata and Ahmedabad have been selected as the host for the playoff games.
As per the revelation, Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be played in Kolkata on May 24 and 26, respectively. While Qualifier and the Finals will be played on May 27 and 29 at Ahmedabad, respectively.
“As far as the men’s ITL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league stage finishes on May 22,”- BCCI president, Sourav Ganguly said while addressing the media after BCCI’s Apex Council Meeting.
Notably, the BCCI has allowed 50 percent crowd into the stadiums for the league stages. But for the knockout stages, the authorities have decided to allow full occupancy of the stadiums.
