The TNPL 2022 started with a bang, with the very first match going right down to the Super over. The games after that have also been of similar entertainment quality. The last game between Ruby Trichy Warriors and IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans was another entertaining game of cricket in which the IDream team came up on top.
Let’s look at the match report for the 6th TNPL 2022 game.
Match 6: Ruby Trichy Warriors vs IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans
The Ruby Trichy Warriors had already won their first game of this edition’s TNPL, whereas it was the first game for the IDreams Tiruppur Tamizhans side. After winning the toss, the IDreams elected to field first. Coming on to bat first the RTW side got a good start from both of their openers, with Amith Sathvik VP making 26 runs off 21 balls and Murali Vijay scoring 34 runs off 16 balls. They, however, could not build on this start as the next few wickets fell for a little score. The lower order batters, Mathivannan M (27 off 18) and P Saravan Kumar (17 off of 20), tried to get to a high score, but had to contain with 157/6. Aswin Crist with a spell of 4-41-22 was their best bowler, with S Mohan Prasanth (4-14-1) being the shrewdest.
Coming on to chase, the IDream’s side had a poor start with both openers going when the team score was 17/2. The next batters in Subramanian Anand (35 runs off 26 balls) and Maan Bafna (26 runs off 28 balls) steadied the innings. It was however the wicket-keeper Tushar Raheja who took their team home with a quickfire 42 runs off 26 deliveries. P Saravan Kumar with the bowling figures of 3.5-44-3 tried his best but could not stop the IDream side from snatching a win.
With this win, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans side moved to third on the points table while the Ruby Trichy Warriors fall to fourth.
