The Hundred 2022: Squads, Venues, Schedule, Where to watch and All you need to know

It is fair to say that change is inevitable. Everything on the planet needs to adapt itself to the changing environment to survive. The same applies to the sport of cricket which began from timeless Tests to day-limited Tests.

The game was further shortened to meet the new demands which gave birth to ODI cricket in the 1970s. The 21^st century brought with it the T20 revolution, which completely transformed cricket all over the world.

The experimentation didn’t stop there as it further led to the arrival of T10 cricket. Jumping on to the experimentation bandwagon, the England and Wales Cricket Board introduced their own 100-ball franchise league called ‘The Hundred’ in 2021. The English board tried to revamp the age-old cricketing rules and bring some excitement into the game.

Here are some of the peculiarities of the new founded 100-ball format:

• Total of 100 balls
• 5 or 10 ball overs
• Change of ends only after 10 balls
• Powerplay for the first 25 deliveries
• A bowler can bowl a maximum of 20 deliveries
• Maximum of two fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle

The Hundred 2022 will feature eight Men’s teams and eight Women’s teams. The second season of the competition is about to go underway from the 3rd of August. Here is all you need to know about the second edition of cricket’s newest format:
