The India wicket-keeper Dinesh Karthik has had a true transformation of sorts. From being in and out of the team to now being in the form of his life, the right-hand batter is focused on rewriting his career.
Dinesh Karthik was reintroduced to the Indian national side on the back of his great form in the Indian T20 League. In the India- South Africa T20I series, he played an important part for the team and also won games when the team was down and on the brink of losing the series. Ravichandran Ashwin is another player who is incredibly important to Indian cricket for more than the past half-decade or so.
According to latest reports, Dinesh Karthik and R Ashwin will take part in the second half of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 tournament. Currently, both these players are out on tour to Ireland and England respectively. The England T20I series will end on July 9th which is when Dinesh Karthik could become free and join the TNPL.
R Ashwin on the other hand would be free after the first Test against England which is scheduled to commence on July 1 and end on July 5. Both of these players have featured in the past editions of TNPL. Dinesh Karthik captained the now-defunct team Albert Tuti Patriots and R Ashwin captained the Dindigul Dragons in the 2017 edition.
The TNPL started on June 23rd with the first game being a nail-biting affair between Chepauk Super Gillies and Nellai Royal Kings that went to the Super Overs. The Nellai Royal Kings won the match on the last ball of the super over.
India are currently on tour to England as well as Ireland. The Test team is in England for the solo rescheduled Test match. Meanwhile the white ball team is in Ireland for two T20Is. R Ashwin is with the test team whereas Dinesh Karthik is with the white ball cricket team.
