Novak Djokovic

Novak Djokovic’s remarkable comeback story continued on Sunday as he defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-3, 7-6 (4), 7-6 (5) in the final at the Australian Open to claim his 10th championship title in Australia and 22nd Grand Slam title overall. With this victory, Djokovic regained the No. 1 spot in the ATP rankings and extended his impressive winning streak at the hard-court tournament to 28 matches.

A year ago, Djokovic was unable to participate in the Australian Open after being deported from the country due to COVID-19 vaccination requirements. However, the 35-year-old has made a triumphant return and added to his already impressive record. His 10 trophies from the Australian Open are a record in themselves, and his 22 major championships, including seven from Wimbledon, three from the U.S. Open, and two from the French Open, tie him with Rafael Nadal for the most major championships won by a man in tennis history.
