Jos Buttler's strong words ahead of summit clash vs Pakistan

England locked horns with India on November 10, Thursday in the knockouts of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 and much to the delight of the English fans, the team under the leadership of Jos Buttler put on a stunning show, chasing the target of 169 in 16 overs without losing a single wicket.

Commenting on the same, Buttler, who contributed an unbeaten 80 with the bat on Thursday, said that his boys are hoping for a good outing against Pakistan in the summit clash. Admitting to Pakistan’s competitiveness, Buttler said that it would be tough to beat the Men in Green on Sunday at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Also hinting at Dawid Malan and Mark Wood, who missed the knockout game against India due to injury, Buttler said that they are being given enough chances to make it to the playing XI for the finals.

They have a fantastic team: Jos Buttler

Buttler, who said that his team would go with the same intent in the finals against Pakistan, claimed that he and his men are all set to take on one of the best pace batteries in the World. Lauding the Men in Green for their valiance, Buttler said that a few of current Pakistani pacers would go on to become the best players in the world.

“Obviously there’s not many days since the semi-final, but we are giving them every chance. Any time you get a chance to play in a World Cup final is a huge honour. We’re really excited as a group, there’s a nice feel around the team. The previous performance (against India) gives us a lot of confidence, but it doesn’t count for anything,” Buttler was quoted as saying.

“They have a fantastic team who have a very long history of producing excellent fast bowlers, and I see the team we are up against as no different. I’m sure by the end of their careers some of the players we are playing against will go down as some of the best Pakistan have produced. That’s a huge part of why they are in the final, so we expect a really tough challenge,” said the England skipper further.
