In their first game of the 20-20 World Cup, India faced Pakistan. While the competition was expected to be close, fans were rooting for their favourite teams to succeed. The bowlers of both teams had a good time in the game as wickets kept tumbling for India and Pakistan.
The in-form batters, on the other hand, were expected to score some runs. Suryakumar Yadav was expected to perform well for India in the crucial match. However, the star batter was dismissed cheaply, scoring only 15 runs in the 10 deliveries that he faced.
Haris Rauf got his wicket in the sixth over of the innings with a short ball. The star Indian batter attempted to cut the short ball, but could only edge it. Mohammad Rizwan, the Pakistani wicketkeeper, took his catch behind the stumps.
As for India, the team was in trouble after losing a few early wickets. The Men in Blue lost three wickets in the powerplay of the chase. Pakistan set a decent target of 160 runs after being put under pressure early on. Iftikhar Ahmed (51) and Shan Masood (52) scored brilliant and hard-fought half-centuries in the game. For India, Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandya had wreaked havoc on the Men in Green, with each taking three wickets in the game.
At the time of writing this article, India has a score of 74 runs after 12 overs. Virat Kohli, playing at a score of 22 runs in 26 balls, and Hardik Pandya, playing at a score of 26 runs in 18 balls, are in the middle. The two will look to form a big partnership and get their team through the chase.
The all-rounder led his team to victory against Pakistan in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2022. On the other hand, Virat Kohli has recently regained his form with the bat and is looking to get some runs under his belt.
