The Indian Super League is fast becoming the most prestigious league in India after the Indian T20 League, although one could argue that both belong to two different sports. Eventually, the teams are toiling hard in the ongoing edition of the contest and the Hyderabad FC are the toppers of the points table with seven wins to their name.
As things stand, Kerala Blasters will take on Bengaluru FC on December 10, Sunday and it remains to be seen if either of the teams could mark the beginning of a well-marked comeback in the league, given that both teams are ranked 6th and 9th in the points table respectively.
Ahead of the clash, The Tuskers’ head coach Ivan Vukomanovic opened up on the game and said that they are looking forward to playing against one of the toughest teams in the tournament. Saying that he is not willing to take the Blues lightly, Vukomanovic claimed that he expects a tough game from their opponent.
There are no easy games for us: Ivan Vukomanovic
Further, the head coach heaped praise on the Bengaluru camp and highlighted that most of the players in the team are national players. Vukomanovic did not shy away from admitting the fact their opponents are ranked lower than his team in the points table but claimed that they can give the Tuskers a tough time.
“If you look at the rankings, of course you see a different situation but I think our opponent is one of the league’s best teams. Most of their players are national team players, they have individual qualities that can make a difference, we are aware of that. Every game that we play we will have to approach with an absolute 100 per cent because there are no easy games for us,” Vukomanovic was quoted as saying.
“It’s a nice derby so we have that kind of obligation to give something extra. This is one of the fixtures that, when I first arrived in India, everyone spoke about. Given the rivalry between the clubs, the number of fans that are going to be there, and now it has added the spice that they are in good form and we are looking to get back to winning. So it’s something I am excited about and I am sure the players are as well,” said the head coach further.
