The 37-year-old originally stated that he intended to play in the ODI format till the 2027 World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. He was a key player in Australia’s recent World Cup victory in India.

If Warner’s form holds steady, his next expected national commitment is the T20 World Cup in the United States and the West Indies in June. The explosive opener is scheduled to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) from April to May.

Warner has also signed on as an expert analyst with Fox Cricket, furthering his commitment in cricket. He is excited to share his wealth of knowledge and experience with audiences beginning next summer.

Even though Warner’s packed schedule makes it unlikely that he would be available for the whole Big Bash League campaign next summer. He is still hopeful that he will be able to play cricket in Australia.

David Warner said, “I am definitely keen to pursue playing Big Bash again next year. There’s obviously going to be conversations behind the scenes to allow me to do that. Obviously I’m joining the Fox commentary team next year for the Test series against India, which I’m looking forward to.”
