According to a report by Sports Today, the news claims that the Delhi Capitals contacted the Mumbai Indians about acquiring Rohit Sharma since they intended to have the seasoned star lead them in the Indian Premier League in 2024.
The previous DC captain, Rishabh Pant, is probably going to come back for the 2024 IPL, although he’ll probably be employed to be the impact player during the matches. More or less, Pant has overcome his long-term injuries but the management does not want him to risk him so early on. The growth of the southpaw is also being monitored even by the Indian Cricket Board.
With Hardik Pandya taking the armband as captain of Mumbai, Rohit has lost the captaincy. Even though he won five titles with the Mumbai-based squad, Hardik’s demand forced the owners to give up.
